Commander-in-Chief

Well, last night brought our great country a new leader.

Someone who pledges change and promises something different is coming. I have a confession. I haven't ever been accused of being a fan. And no, it doesnt have a thing to do with being black or white. (Can the majority of you say the same?)

I'm not a Democrat. I do not believe that tax and spend is the answer. That's the democratic way. Always has been, read the platform. You see, I was raised in a simple way. I think that everyone should pull their weight and work to the fullest of their potential. Serve. Serve your country. Serve your community. Serve your family. Serve God. (Not in a crazy, cult kinda way, but more in a "try to always do the right thing" kinda way.) I believe that only in the blood, sweat, and tears of hard working Americans the answers to the secrets of the universe lie.

Now, all of that having been said, I also respect the position. I will respect and support his decisions, I will steadfastly respect and support the troops.

President Obama made a statement as our new Commander-in Chief that really made an impact. At least on me.

"Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers today, every day, forever," Obama told troops at the Commander in Chief ball. "Tonight, we celebrate. Tomorrow, the work begins. ... Together, I am confident we will write the next great chapter in America's story."

I will wait, on pins and needles. Wait, hopeful for the next chapter. Good luck, Mr. President. You, sir, are in my thoughts and prayers.

2009 brings Mississippi a new title

According to a report published by the CDC regarding teenage pregnancy, Mississippi now has the highest occurence, displacing Texas and New Mexico with greater than 60% higher rate than the national average. Credit is given to the statistic that these three states have large proportions of black and Hispanic teenagers — groups that traditionally have higher birth rates.
Well, I think all the employees of the ER at Delta Regional would suggest that the obvious solution to the problems would be to lube up the triad with their very own name brand lubricating jelly and let them slide on out the ambulance bay and down the ramp into umemployment. Nothing would make the majority of the team happier. Other than that, my only hope for those of us still standing is to do the best we can and hope 2009 brings brighter days.

I as a Delta Regional ER employee am assuming that you are talking about the triad of assholes that think they are the best thing that ever happened to the ER administration here.... That is hysterical. If their knowledge base was half as big as their egos and the asshole attitudes they carry around the ER would have absolutely nothing to worry about because all of the fundamental malfunctions would have long since been resolved. What can you do with a group of people such as these who are only legends in their own sick minds?

The Perfect Gift
The holiday season may be over but there is still time to celebrate a very important (and often overlooked) day worthy of celebrating and giving the perfect gift!
Confused? January 6th is the Epiphany. It is the celebration of Three Kings Day. In celebration of the "self proclaimed kings" May I suggest to you Triad Lubricating Jelly. What could be more perfect?

A Brand New Year. 2009. Ji Chou.

here's to a brand new year. 2009. the year of the ox. heres what the internet has to say about it...

"The Ox is the sign of prosperity through fortitude and hard work. This powerful sign is a born leader, being quite dependable and possessing an innate ability to achieve great things. As one might guess, such people are dependable, calm, and modest. Like their animal namesake, the Ox is unswervingly patient, tireless in their work, and capable of enduring any amount of hardship without complaint. "

Assuming that we apply these descriptors to what we know about our fearless (most would say worthless) leaders at delta regional, and the institution as a whole, the following must then be true.... (hold on, this isnt an "if","then" equation like math class!)

1. powerful sign: nope. nobody acknowledges their "power." power perceived is power achieved.
2. born leaders: negative
3. quite dependable: only thing you can depend on is worthlessness
4. possessing the ability to achieve great things: ha- although i suppose ruining that hospital is pretty impressive destruction!
5. dependable, calm, modest: whatever.
6. capable of enduring hardship without complaint: no, actually that is what their expectations are. work the tail off, no complaining!

Now, I know that this custom is to be characteristics of people born to this symbol. I guess I may be a little hopeful that 2009 will be the year of rebirth for DRMC, starting at the yop and going downward, instead of the other way around. Build a hospital with the chinese characteristics and that will be an accomplishment worthy of recognizing. anything else, including what that place is now, is barely worth mentioning.

Worker Bee offers from the Hive...

Worker Bee offers...

I agree with what has been posted.Morale is at the lowest I have seen in 20 years. When you take in consideration that the employees (worker bees) have taken the brunt of the financial cuts-do more with less and how dare you complain--it is an amazing feat that there is any one still wanting to work there. Do not think that this situation is unknown to the rest of the state, I hear that GV hospital is discussed in depth at other (Jackson,Meridian,Columbus and so forth) Hospitals-as what not to do and we are being watched for the outcome-will the hospital be sold? will the state take over? what will happen?--- and can we get away with doing the same to our hospital and the employees. Another question is If all the management is replaced, will all the problems disappear? The answer is No. New problems will replace old problems and things will continue. What is the solution? Please someone make a viable suggestion.

Cutting back is one thing, DRMC has turned into to more of a "cut-throat." I don't know what the solution is. I feel in the deepest, darkest parts of my heart that the answers do not lie in retaining the management as it is now. I think the top-heavy "queen-bees" know this. That would explain some of the erratic behavior patterns. Since Allyson Williams left and Florence Jones was ousted, middle managers have been scraping and scrounging for new allies, at the expense of the hospital as a whole. It would do nothing but please the majority of us worker bees to see the majority of them jobless. Maybe they should all have to reapply and sit for interviews conducted by the department employees. How many of them do you think would still be internet surfing from their high-and-mighty desks at the end of that day? I wouldn't think very many. I do know that their are still some there that are trying to stick it out and trying to make the best out of a bad situation. As for the other hospitals that are out there watching. DRMC's chapter will most likely be labeled "what not to do."
